Today’s goal was to drive to Nashua, NH. We wanted to see some of the Finger Lakes so we drove along Seneca Lake until we hit the I-90 interstate (more on I-90 later).
Seneca Lake is in the middle of the Finger Lakes. Personally, I think they should have named it the Middle Finger lake to give people the geographical perspective of the lake’s location (and for the comedy factor). As we drove we caught some great lake views.
There are a lot of vineyards and wineries along the way. We were tempted to stop and do some wine tasting, but hustling down the Interstate after having too much wine sounded like a bad idea.
We eventually made it to I-90 which is yet another toll road – with attitude. When we were on the IL, IN and OH toll roads we were able to go in to the cash line and pay with a credit card (the tolls were all over $10). When it was time to pay our NY toll of $17.05 Tom handed the cashier a credit card. She replied with a curt “No”. She did not explain, say “Cash only” – simply a very snotty “No”. Tom then handed her $20.05. She grabbed the $20 and gave us a bunch of undesired change – charming…..I guess she hates nickels and spends her day trying to avoid them.
After that experience we were relieved to leave NY and enter VT

We were immediately charmed by the quirkiness and the beautiful scenery.
We would have loved to spend some more time in VT, but we have to keep on going. It seems weird to have to make compromises on a 2 month trip, but it is a big world out there and we have a lot of miles to travel and a lot of sites to see.
We finally arrived at our RV park in Nashua, NH – Field and Stream RV Park.

RV parks are not our normal preferred place to stay, but we were in a hurry to find a place. For the short amount of time we were there it was very nice. We also lucked out because right after we got all situated it started POURING and rained all night. The temperature was not overly hot, but the humidity was excessive so we had our A/C on all night to avoid waking up dripping wet. Hats off to our friend Nasser for fixing up our camper’s A/C before we left Denver.
