Yay! Today is a hiking day! After breakfast we headed for Sentier de la Statue. It is forecasted to start raining at 3:00ish so we plan to be back at the camper before then.

At the beginning of the hike there are some very large rocks. There was an amazing rock outcropping that was so huge they had placed several picnic tables beneath it. I could not get the scale of it in a photo so I did not take one.

The hike had a lot of wooden and stone stairs, with various stopping and view-points along the way. One of my favorite stopping points had a swing!

When we got to the highest look-out we sat for awhile and admired the splendor of nature.

Of course, whatever goes up must come down. Hiking downhill is harder on Tom’s bionic knee, but he did it with style.

We got back hours before it rained (it started at 6:00) and had a relaxing time reading in the camper. It is around 52-54 degrees outside pretty much day and night, so we prefer sitting inside the cozy warm camper. We tried a new experiment for dinner – grilled a pizza on our outside grill. It was yummy! This experiment will be repeated.
Colorado hiking trails should have swings also. Leave it to the Canadians to think of something so awesome.
