We have had a wonderful time with our friends Rick and Christine and their son Nicholas.

I enjoyed watching all the wildlife come by her garden.
Nicholas is not even 4 yet so he did more relaxing than the rest of us.

One day we went to Christine’s family farm. We picked tomatoes…

…explored the general area and the buildings (and wildlife)

..admired the pond

..and Nicholas got to pretend to ride a tractor.

Tom and I took a day trip and went to Canada’s beautiful Niagara Wine Country. It was such fun. We tasted wine, admired the grapes that look like they are ready to harvest, and strolled through one of the winery’s sculpture garden (I took a photo of the wolf sculpture because I knew my brother would love it)

Christine and I share the same birthday and she has two other friends that also have September birthdays. Everyone came over one night and we had “Virgo Fest”. Pictured here are the Virgos:

One of the advantages of staying with friends is that we were able to observe Canadians in their natural habitat. One of the odder things we saw was the placement of baked beans on french toast. Yes, I tried it and though I do not recommend it, Tom liked it.

Our last night together we got a babysitter and went out for dinner. It was the usual gathering of the 4 of us: Christine and I snorting with laughter and embarassing our husbands and my stomach hurting from laughing.

It’s been a fabulous visit and we will miss Rick, Christine and Nicholas. They are trying to get us to move in Toronto (conveniently they own 2 houses next to each other). I am not a big fan of winter, but the idea is very tempting.

I want the wolf sculpture!
