Part Two of our “Indianapolis Mooch from your Friends Extravaganza” begins today. We left Laurie and John’s house and headed the cute little town of Zionsville (recommended by John). It has good restaurants and lots of little shops. We had a leisurely meal and bought various gifts (admittedly some for ourselves). Around 2:00 we headed for the Bunding/Schilling family estate. They gave us the house tour and then began to feed us. The food and wine didn’t stop for the rest of the night! Happily, I now have the recipes to re-create the evening in the future. Of course, any re-creation won’t be as fun without Debbie and Tom. Maybe I can convince them to fly in for the event 😊. Here we are enjoying spinach lasagna and spinach salad.

Dessert was Rhubarb oven pudding. We each prepared tour own toppings for our pudding and they were served piping hot – (wow!).

Debbie had planned activities for next morning so we dropped Claire at Adult care….

… and headed for the Indianapolis Rhythm and Percussion Center

It was a very hands-on experience and really fun. I fear Tom wants a drum set now.
Here we are in a drum circle…

Debbie could have a new career on the “Gong Show” (You may have no knowledge of this reference – trust me – back in the day it was a thing)

The Center has soundproof booths so people can really jam-out.

After our fun drum-time Debbie and Tom took us to the Indy 500 Track. Admittedly, I have never had a desire to go to the Indy 500, but after hearing about it and seeing the track I can see the appeal. Basically – it’s an all-day party that gets really loud for 2 -3 hours while the cars are racing.
Alas, after our great time with Debbie and Tom we had to hit the road.
One last picture of the Macalester graduates (I wore that t-shirt just for Debbie and then realized that I wore that when I saw her in May as well. Am guessing she thinks that I have no other t-shirts😊)

And we headed off for the last leg of our journey.
We went through Illinois again (the state that appears frequently on this trip)

We passed through St. Louis and saw the arch.

And spent the night in Waynesville, MO at a really cute city campground.
